Newport County, based in South Wales and founded in 1912, has a rich history in the lower leagues. After financial collapse in 1989, the club reformed and now plays at Rodney Parade. They’re known for giant-killings in cup competitions.
Leeds United and Newport met in the League Cup and FA Cup. Most notably, Newport knocked Leeds out of the FA Cup in 2018 with a 2-1 win, shocking the Championship side at Rodney Parade.
